MTEN | Saint Mary's Too Much For Sonoma State

MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's men's tennis team overmatched Sonoma State as the Gaels captured a 7-0 win on Saturday afternoon. The win was SMC's second consecutive win after the Gaels defeated Sacramento State last week.
Nash Vollenweider and Jacob Lagman took a 6-1 decision at No. 1 doubles, their first time playing in the No. 1 spot. In No. 2 doubles, Alex Hunt and Brian Lee defeated Sullivan Roche and Christian Francisco 6-1. At No. 3 doubles, James Markiewicz and Matthew Campana defeated Daniel Holz and Kevin To 7-6 (7-4).
In singles action, Hunt defeated Holz 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1. Vollenweider defeated Blaine Mengurt at No. 2 3-6, 6-1, 7-5.
At No. 3 singles, Markiewicz defeated Logan Liddell 6-0, 6-1 while at No. 4 singles, Lagmand defeated Roche 6-0, 6-3.
At No. 5 singles, Daniel Krutik defeated Francisco 6-0, 6-0, while at No. 6 singles Alec Wagner defeated Kevin Rosenthal 6-1, 6-0.
Saint Mary's is back in action on March 8th when it hosts Utah State at 3:00 p.m.
