MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's College's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Matoso announced today the naming of the University Credit Union Pavilion court after current chair of the Board of Trustees Dr. Kevin M. Nagle.
Over several years, the generosity of Dr. Nagle has benefited the entire athletics department, with specific donations to UCU Pavilion upgrades and new construction to the main facility for men's and women's basketball and volleyball.
"We are excited today to be able to announce the naming of Kevin M. Nagle Court in the University Credit Union Pavilion at Saint Mary's College," Matoso said. "Kevin has been a generous donor to the UCU project as well as other areas across campus. As board chair, Kevin was a fearless leader through the pandemic and used his business savvy to guide the college through a very difficult time. I am honored to be able to recognize his stewardship."
Dr. Nagle has been the chair of the Board of Trustees since 2017. He is a highly successful businessman and savvy investor from the Sacramento area. He is owner, chairman, and CEO of the Sacramento Republic FC of the USL which is competing for an expansion team in Major League Soccer and is the largest local investor with the NBA's Sacramento Kings.
"Kevin has been a major influence on and leader of the College for several years. His dedication to the school and his support have been outstanding," Saint Mary's College President Richard Plumb said. "It's been an honor to work with Kevin through these first couple of months and I look forward to many more years of his leadership."
This offseason, the court was resurfaced and repainted with Kevin M. Nagle Court positioned on both sides of the court.
"Being a part of the Saint Mary's community is so very meaningful," Dr. Nagle said. "Its Lasallian principles coupled with a high quality education has motivated me to continue to support the College. I am flattered beyond belief the court is named after me."
