Softball Sweeps Oregon Tech

Moraga, CA - Senior Jenn Pick picked up a pair of wins on the mound to lead the Saint Mary's softball team (11-16) to a two-game sweep over Oregon Tech (5-4) on Saturday afternoon. The Gaels won the first game 9-0 in five innings and took the nightcap 4-2.
Pick pitched nine scoreless innings on the day, allowing just a total of four hits. She pitched a three-hit shutout in the first game and entered the second game in relief, giving up one hit over four innings, to improve to 9-8 on the season.
Four Gaels tallied multiple hits in game one, led by Holly Ferreria, who was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and one RBI. Laura Connors was 2-for-3 at the plate with a career-high three RBI. Saint Mary's scored three runs in the first inning, four in the third inning and two in the fourth.
In the second game, Ferreria went 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead the offensive charge. Serena Nevarez also totaled two hits and added one run scored. Tracy Bealer gave up four hits and two runs through three innings before Pick entered the game in relief.
Saint Mary's, winners of three of its last four games, will next host Portland State on Monday. First pitch of the double-header is set for 2:00 p.m.
