BVB | Chase, Knudsen Named Pair of the Year Amidst 6 All-WCC Awards

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After a 2019 season full of success which included a national ranking as high as No. 18, six Gaels received All-West Coast Conference Awards. Highlighting the field were seniors Sarah Chase and Lindsey Knudsen who were named the WCC Pair of the Year.
Pair of the Year: Lindsey Knudsen and Sarah Chase
Sarah Chase – 24-5 in the No. 1 position for SMC…defeated 7 ranked opponents: Stanford (3 times), No. 12 Cal, No. 13 LMU, and No. 14 LMU (2 Times). This is Chase's second First Team honor in three seasons of beach volleyball and she was on the second team two years ago.
Lindsey Knudsen – 24-5 in the No. 1 spot for SMC…defeated 7 ranked opponents: Stanford (3 times), No. 12 Cal, No. 13 LMU, and No. 14 LMU (2 Times). This is her fourth-consecutive All-WCC selection. This is her fourth-consecutive All-WCC selection (all on the First Team). Knudsen's accolade-laden career also includes a WCC Freshman of the Year Award in 2016 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2017.

Selbie Christensen – 19-9 in the No. 5 position and helped lead the team to 16 5-0 sweeps. She paired with both Cowell and Morgan Keendrick this season.
Chandler Cowell – 20-9 overall, going 9-4 in the No. 4 position and 11-5 on court No. 5.
