NEW ORLEANS – The Scholar Teams of the Year and All-Academic Team honors for the 2018-19 NCAA Divison I Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field seasons were recently announced by the USTFCCCA. Both the men's and women's teams from Saint Mary's were amongst the teams that were given an All-Academic standing.

The association honored 227 women's teams and 139 men's teams with the highest men's cumulative GPA coming from Harvard (3.55) and the highest women's from South Dakota State (3.68). The Gaels performed well in the classroom on both the men's and women's sides, finishing with 3.28 and 3.45 grade point averages respectively. The West Coast Conference performed well as a whole, with seven schools having both men's and women's teams on the list. SMC's women's squad had the third-highest GPA in the conference behind Portland (3.63) and Gonzaga (3.58).
