SUNNYVALE, Calif. — Saint Mary's Cross Country heads out for one final race before the WCC Championship in two weeks. The Gaels will take part in the annual Bronco Invitational on Saturday morning at Baylands Park in Sunnyvale, sending the full squad out to show what they got in advance of the conference meet.

Saint Mary's raced in the Pacific Invite on October 1, and had some stellar performances. It wound up being freshman Muhammed Ahmed pacing the Gaels on the men's side and finishing in second place overall with a time of 25:44.6, just eight seconds back of a win. He was followed in the top-ten by Blaine Reynolds (26:19) and Nick Holyfield (26:29.9), with Payton Fox finishing just outside of the top-ten with an 11^th place finish in 26:31.2 Ahmed, Holyfield, and Fox all set new personal bests with their times as they pushed Saint Mary's through to a second-place finish overall.
 
Rayna Stanziano was the fastest runner on the course during the women's portion, winning the Pacific Invite with a time 21:13.1. This marked her second-fastest race of the season and the second time she has won a cross country race (Jessup Invite, spring of 2021). The Gaels also landed three on their side in the top-ten, with Molly Dreher running a strong race to finish sixth overall with a 22:18.8, Sylvia Ingram finishing eighth with her 22:35.1 Hannah Wohlenberg was running unattached in the race and finished fourth with her time of 21:45.6. Saint Mary's finished with the top time overall in the team category, beating out the eight other teams.

• There is no charge for admission.
• Parking is $6 per car in the Baylands Park lot. Those attending are encouraged to park in the Baylands lot, not in a lot for any of the local businesses near the park. Parking in any lot other than the Baylands lot is at your own risk.
• Baylands is a bird sanctuary and dogs are not allowed, even if leashed.
• Only park in designated parking spots, others will be towed by the City.
