GOLF | Micheal Slesinski Named WCC Golfer of the Month

SAN MATEO, Calif. — Saint Mary's Golfer Michael Slesinski has been named the West Coast Conference Golfer of the Month for the month of September.
Slesinski led all golfers with two eagles at the Husky Invitational and finished second overall among 80 golfers in the individual portion of the tournament. The Fremont, Calif. native shot a tournament-best 66 in the second round to go along with a 70 in round one and a 72 in round three to finish 8-under par overall and had 11 birdies.
As of October 1st, Slesinski is the 32nd ranked player in all of Division 1 golf and currently has a 69.33 stroke average, making par 34 times at the Husky Invitational.
Last season he played in 10 tournaments and was named a WCC All-Academic Honorable Mention while posting a stroke average of 73.17 and had 13 rounds of par or better. Slesinski shot 72-70-72 to finish 2-under at the WCC Championship and shot a season-low 67 at the Pasadera Collegiate Invite.
