SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Women's Rowing Team competed at the Head of the American at Lake Natoma on Saturday afternoon, their final race of the fall.

The Gaels competed in a 5 km head race against 25 other boats, with the boat led by
Hathaway Scarpine as the Stroke finishing 19
th in a time of 18:24.9. The second Saint Mary's boat, led by Faith Freligh as the Stroke, finished a few positions back in 23
rd, in a time of 19:18.9.

Two boats from UC Berkeley finished first and second in the event, finishing in times of 16:54.1 and 17:00.4 respectively. UCLA had one of their four boats round out the podium, finishing right behind the second place boat in a time of 17:01.0.

Head Coach Brian Ebke was pleased with the improvement his team has made over the course of the fall, "Both boats did really well, there is definite progress and great improvement from the whole team."Â
