LAST TIME OUT
The last time Saint Mary's took the field came on March 17-18, when they hosted Maine and Dartmouth in a pair of split doubleheaders at Cottrell Field. Offense was tough to come by all weekend long, but the Gaels were able to bounce back after dropping the first two games. They held Maine and Dartmouth to just one run across the final two games on that Saturday, winning 2-0 and 4-1, respectively. Saint Mary's only scored eight runs all weekend, but their pitching staff held the opposition to just eight runs as well.

BIG DATES ON THE CALENDAR
With the weekend series against San Diego, the Gaels have an exciting weekend of softball ahead. Three of the five WCC series this season take place at Cottrell Field, with San Diego representing the first crack at conference play. Saturday's single game also features two additional promotions: Paint Moraga Red Day and an Easter Egg Hunt. Fans are encouraged to wear red as the Gaels wear their red uniforms at home. After the game, there will be a youth Easter egg hunt, including five golden eggs that have special prizes associated with them. It should be a great weekend for families and fans, alike.

ABOUT UC DAVIS
There are similarities to how UC Davis plays compared to the Gaels. Saint Mary's struggles to score runs at times, and the Aggies have scored just 110 runs over their 29 games this year (less than four per game). They also have a great pitching staff, which has compiled a 2.16 earned run average. The primary difference between the two teams is that UC Davis can get players on base, with a team batting average of .281, but it has not translated to runs. They are entering the week hot, having scored 32 runs over the last three games in a conference series win over CSU Bakersfield.
Â
ABOUT SAN DIEGO
The Toreros are usually a stout opponent in the conference, but they have struggled out of the gates so far, with just a .403 winning percentage. Their pitching staff has been to blame so far, with a 4.68 earned run average and an opponent's batting average of .297. They've also allowed 25 home runs, by far the most in the conference. Izzy Owen is their leader on offense, with a .385 batting average and .902 OPS, while Joecellia Roberts has been their best run producer, with three home runs and 21 driven in.
