BERKELEY, Calif. – The Gaels hit the track on a sunny day in Berkeley as a handful of Gaels set season bests.
The day's action got started with the long jump, as Wisom Thomas was the sole representative for SMC. Thomas put together a good showing, with his longest jump coming in at 6.55m, good enough for second in his flight.
In the men's discus throw, Gavin Voskamp put in some good throws, with his longest being 41.82m.
The track events got going soon after, with the longest event of the day, the 5000m, first up.
SMC's Rayna Stanziano was the quickest of the bunch, winning the women's 5k in a time of 16:39.30, a full 20 seconds ahead of Academy of Art's Lisa Redlinger in second place.
Next up was the 1500m, and Cayden Hein led the way for the Gaels. Hein crossed the line in 12th with a time of 4:00.67, his best time of the season by two seconds.
Crossing the line next for SMC was Luke Bland and Aidan Donovan, as the pair finished 28th and 29th with times of 4:12.00 and 4:12.89 respectively.
Angel Castro and Bryan Cromartie rounded out the field for Saint Mary's, as they finished 31st and 32nd with times of 4:15.40 and 4:15.75.
The 800m was the next event up, as a handful of men competed in the discipline.
Noah Pagaran led the way, finishing in 7th in a time of 1:55.95, a personal best by nearly three seconds.
Jason Habash was just a few spots behind as he claimed 10th in a time of 1:57.00. Eric Martinez was next to finish, claiming 21st in a time of 2:03.71.
Isaiah Jimenez and Raphael Lobo rounded out the field for SMC, claiming 27th and 28th in times of 2:07.62 and 2:07.76 respectively.

The Gaels will be back on track this upcoming week as they head to Walnut, California for the Mt. Sac Relays on Wednesday April 12 before the teams will split up and either head to the Bryan Clay Invite, Johnny Mathis, or Beach Invite over the weekend.
