Savannah Schwarze Wins Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. - Savannah Schwarze has earned the Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week award – her first win of the 2023 season – as the Gaels came out of an outstanding road trip from Washington.

As the Gaels trailed early on against Eastern Washington, an SMC corner was headed out of the box by EWU and landed at the feet of Savannah Schwarze where she took two touches and fired it low to the keeper.

After the half, the Gaels continued to attack when Briana Salvetti played the ball across the box to Schwarze who stuck her right foot out and flicked the ball right past the defender to go up 4-1 in the 55th minute.

The two-goal game was career first for Schwarze. On the team she is second for highest in goal (3) and in points (7) for the Gaels.
