Alex Ducas Wins His Third Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week of the Season

MORAGA, Calif. — After leading the Gaels to their 11th and 12th consecutive victories, Alex Ducas has been named the Shamrock Office Solutions Saint Mary's Student-Athlete of the Week. Ducas averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per contest in the Gaels wins over Pacific and Portland this past week. It is the third time Ducas has won this award this season, and the fifth time in his Saint Mary's career.

Coming into this week, Alex Ducas had picked up wins on every WCC court except for that of University of the Pacific. He made sure that that would not be the case following Tuesday night, scoring a team-high 18 points in the Gaels 84-43 trouncing of the Tigers. Alex shot a season-best 78% from the field (7-9), including a perfect 4-4 clip from three. He followed that up with a near double-double in Portland, scoring 12 points and ripping down nine rebounds en route to a 76-51 victory. Ducas finished the weekend shooting 52% (11-21) from the field and 53% (8-15) from three.

Alex and the Gaels will have a single game this week, hosting Pepperdine on Thursday evening.
