TRK | Gaels Run Away with Wins and PRs at Their First Outdoor Meet

HAYWARD, Calif. - The Gaels competed in their first outdoor meet, walking away with PRs and heat wins.
Both men and women competed in the 1500 meters where Jason Habash secured first place with a time of 3:55.83 for the men and Rayna Stanziano took first place for the women with a time of 4:33.69.
Following Habash in the 1500 meters was Blaine Reynolds in second place with a time of 3:57.48. Sophomore Eric Martinez took third with a time of 3:59.34. Only 0.06 seconds behind Martinez was freshman Alexandro Alvarez and securing that fifth spot was Thomas Osborne finishing at 4:00.04.
The Gaels continued to stay on top in the 3000 meters. For the women, Molly Dreher dominated with a time of 9:44.00 and Kaylee Barnes came in with a time of 9:56.70, finishing in second place.
Junior Jaden DeSouza came out on top for the Gaels in the 200 meters, taking first place, 0.42 seconds faster than her competitor who came in second.
For the men, Gavin Voskamp secured first place in shot put and discus, along with Regina Militoris, for the women, now holding a school record and a new PR.
Not only did the women beat one school record, but Piper Kunesh won the 400 hurdle, beat the school record, and hit a new PR. The four women who competed in the 4x100, McKenna Burrows, Kitty Tang, Alexandra Davis-Libiano, and Hailey Vines, beat another school record.
A quote from Head Coach Marty Kinsey after today's meet, "Gaels crushed it today. It's always a good sign when we walk away from the first outdoor meet with so many personal bests and so many heat wins. The season is going to be a good one!"
