STANFORD, Calif. - The Track and Field team had both men and women competing in the 800 and 1500 meters, with multiple men competing in each section, and only
Luz Mercado,
Rayna Stanziano, and
Molly Dreher representing the girls at the Payton Jordan Invitational.
The Men's Team:
The Freshman,
Spencer Wirshing, was the fastest Gael to finish the 800 meter run with a time of 1:53.79, and a split of 56.89.
Jason Habash came in 0.15 seconds behind Wirshing, only 0.53 off his best time.
Alexandro Alvarez finished with a time of 1:55.26 and
Eric Martinez trailed him by 1.07 seconds.
The last group of the men that competed took on the 1500 meter run with
Thomas Osborne finishing first of five Gaels, coming in at 4:03.85.
Aidan Donovan came in at 4:09.92, 0.51 seconds off his best time.
Payton Fox clocking in at 4:10.07, followed by Diego Uridales at 4:11.23, and
Luke Bland finishing with a time of 4:14.07.
The Women's Team:
Luz Mercado represented the Gaels in the 800 meter run, coming in with a time of 2:08.96.
Rayna Stanziano finished the 1500 meter run in third place in the women's section two, with a time of 4:19.95 and
Molly Dreher finishing seventh at 4:23.97.
Those who did not compete today, will be competing this weekend at the Fresno State Invite.
