SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — For the third consecutive year, Saint Mary's College surpassed 200 student-athletes on the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll. The WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes that have balanced athletic success with academic excellence. In order to qualify for the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll, individuals must have earned a varsity letter in a sport which the conference determined a champion in the recently completed academic year, hold a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 must be based on a 4.0 scale, and must have successfully completed an average of at least 12 graded credit hours (non pass-fail hours) per term.
Approximately two-thirds of Saint Mary's student-athletes qualified for this honor. The Conference recognizes those on the WCC Commissioner's Honor Roll in three separate categories:
4.00-3.75 - Gold Honors
3.74-3.50 - Silver Honors
3.49-3.00 - Bronze Honors
The Gaels had 58 athletes earn gold honors (including seven 4.0s), 54 earn silver and 92 earn bronze. Amongst WCC schools, Saint Mary's ranked fourth in the WCC with 204 honorees, behind Santa Clara (213), LMU (237) and Gonzaga (250).
