SMC Athletic Ticket & Venue Policies

The Saint Mary’s college Athletic Department is committed to ensuring that student athletes, students, faculty, staff, and supporters are able to experience athletic events at Saint Mary’s in a safe and healthy environment.  

Athletic Staff will proactively intervene to support an environment where guests can enjoy the sporting event or entertainment experience free from the following behaviors:

  • Foul/abusive language or obscene gestures 
  • Intoxication or other signs of impairment related to consumption of drugs and/or alcohol
  • Displays of affection not appropriate in a family setting
  • Any disruption to the progress of the game by guest's action or unauthorized persons in restricted areas
  • Guests seated in a location other than their ticketed area.  
In response to the need for heightened security procedures, the SMC Athletics Event Staff has implemented the following policies to ensure a safe, enjoyable event experience for all guests.

Clear Bag Policy-
A Clear Bag Policy will be in effect at all ticketed Saint Mary’s Athletic events  This policy will define the size and types of bags that may be brought to events as well as what items are allowed inside our venues.  Exceptions will be made for individuals with medical needs or diaper bags. This policy mirrors many professional and collegiate venues across the country. Exceptions to this policy will be made by SMC Athletics staff or their designated representatives.

Allowable clear bags:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12”x12”x6”
  • No buckles, grommets/hardware or décor can be concealing any part of the bag. Any logo can only be on one side of the bag.
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

  • Small clutch bags, which cannot exceed 4.5”x6.5” in size, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags. 

 

SMC Security Policy:

Items permitted into Saint Mary’s Athletics venues are:

  • Keys, makeup, feminine products, combs, phones, wallets, and credit cards that can be carried in your pockets are allowed but are subject to inspection upon entry.
  • Bags that comply with the stated bag policy

  • Cameras with lenses 6 inches or shorter

  • Diaper bags accompanying a child

  • Guide, signal and service animals with guests that need their assistance(Guests may be asked to show verification by a staff member)
  • Seat cushions


Items not permitted into Saint Mary’s Athletics venues are:

  • Backpacks

  • Outside food and beverages

  • Glass/Cans/Metal Bottles

  • Hard Coolers

  • Artificial noise making devices

  • Video Cameras/ Monopods/Tripods

  • Bags larger than 12”x12”x6”

  • Banners/Signs that do not comply with written regulations

  • Balls or other projectiles

  • Weapons of any kind

  • Laser Pointers

  • Tobacco Products including e-cigarettes

  • Skateboards/Rollerblades/Scooters/Roller Shoes

  • Balloons

  • Illegal Drugs

  • Non-Medically necessary motorized units(Segways, Bicycles, Tr-Bikes)

SMC Athletic Event Staff reserves the right to make the final determination on prohibited items. In the event that the prohibited items are revealed in a search, guests will be asked to dispose of the item or return them to their vehicle before re-entering the building.  Refusal to comply will result in immediate removal from the premises and violator will be subject to disciplinary action. SMC Athletics Event Staff reserves the right to refuse admission or eject any person violating a facility rule, local state or federal law or those whose conduct is deemed illegal, disorderly or offensive by management.  

Ticket Office Hours:

SMC Athletic Ticket Office hours are from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday on non-holidays. Accepted Credit Cards: Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Hours on Gameday vary by sport. Men’s basketball hours are 1.5 hours before posted tip off time, all other sports open 1 hour prior to published start time.  


Digital Ticketing & Entry:
SMC Athletics requires all fans to utilize digital ticketing.  Single game tickets purchased ahead of time will only be available in digital form. When purchasing tickets at the box office on game days, patrons will be provided with a digital record of their ticket(s) to be used to enter any athletic venue.  

Season tickets will only be available in digital form for all ticketed athletic events.  Digital ticket readers will be in use at all venues. Season Ticket holders will be provided up to date information regarding use of digital tickets prior to the start of any season.  

Admissions Policy:
All patrons must have a ticket for entry into SMC athletic events where there is a charge for admission. Children under the age of 3 do not need a ticket if they are going to sit on an adult’s lap. Children 3 years or older are required to have a ticket to enter. Re-entry is prohibited at all SMC Athletic facilities. Tickets for men's and women's basketball games will be accepted at the door until mid-way through the 2nd half(10 minutes to go in the second half). Admission to all games will not be allowed after that time.

Season Tickets:
Individuals with Season Tickets will be contacted once game has been canceled. No refunds will be given but season ticket holders will be given an opportunity to receive a like number of additional tickets for any other game based on availability. 
 
Single Game Tickets:
Individuals who have purchased tickets to a game that is Canceled (no make-up game will be played) will be eligible to receive a like number of tickets to any other game subject to availability. The SMC Ticket Office will reach out to purchasers with details after a game is canceled.  For games that are re-scheduled, tickets for the original game can be used for the rescheduled game. 
Individuals with complimentary tickets(excluding player pass list tickets) will be offered tickets to an alternate game later in the season by the SMC Ticket Office.  Player pass list tickets will be voided and not eligible for any sort of exchange.
 
Group Tickets:
Group Ticket leaders will be contacted by the ticket office if a game is canceled or rescheduled. Every effort will be made to reschedule a group outing for a later date subject to availability.
 

No Refunds or Exchanges: 
Refunds or exchanges will not be made unless an order is not filled. Refunds or exchanges will not be made due to a game time or date change. All sales are final.

Order Fees:
Orders placed online or by phone will carry a nominal convenience fee that is non-refundable. Tickets purchased at the box office are subject to convenience fees.

Will Call:

A Customer Service window will open 90 minutes prior to tip off for men's basketball and 60 minutes prior for all other ticketed events and will be located at a dedicated window in the ticket office.  Media members looking for credentials, individuals who have been issued tickets via SMC's pass list who have problems with their tickets, as well as game officials, will be able to request assistance at the Media/Pass List Service window. The SMC Ticket Office does NOT administer a pass list for visiting teams under any circumstances. 

Advance Ticket Purchases/UCU Pavilion Events Only:
Future game tickets can be purchased during regular box office hours at any SMC Athletic event taking place in UCU Pavilion.  In arena ticket window hours are from 1.5 hours prior to tip off until half-time(MBB), 1 hour prior to the start of an event until the conclusion of the 2nd set(WVB), and 1 hour prior to the event until halftime (WBB).  

Lost Tickets:
Lost tickets can only be replaced if requested by the account holder of record. Tickets will only be reissued to the account holder of record at the discretion of the Ticket Office and will transmitted electronically to the account holder on record.

ADA Seating: 
Individuals may purchase a season or single game accessible seat and one seat for a companion, if available. ADA Seating is NOT available online and is sold on a first come first served basis.  To purchase ADA seating, contact the ticket office (smctickets@stmarys-ca.edu).

Alcohol:
Outside Alcohol is NOT permitted inside University Credit Union Pavilion, Brother Ronald Gallagher Stadium, Saint Mary's Stadium, Cotrell Field or any other athletic venue on SMC campus that is hosting a sanctioned athletic event, unless the sale/consumption is officially sanctioned by SMC Athletics. Persons entering SMC Athletic facilities are subject to a Department of Public Safety or Game Day Staff search for alcohol.  Events sanctioned by SMC Athletics that serve alcohol do so with proper permitting and adhere to all local, state and federal laws regarding the sale and serving of alcohol. Individuals who abuse the rights granted to SMC Athletics through their licenses, can and will be removed from the premises.  

Animals:
The only animals allowed into an SMC Athletics facility are certified service animals. Owners will be asked to provide appropriate certification to verify the status of a service animal.  

Artificial Noisemakers:
The only artificial noisemakers allowed at all contests shall be the instruments of official SMC Band members.   Any other artificial noisemaker is subject to confiscation.  

ATM:
There is an ATM located in the lobby of University Credit Union Pavilion and the 1928 PUB located between Dryden Hall and Cafe Louis.  

Banners and Signs:
The displaying of banners and signs in SMC Athletics venues are allowed as long as signs meet the following criteria:              

  • They do not obstruct the view of other fans

  • They do not cover any existing venue signage

  • They are not in poor taste

  • They are not commercial in nature

  • They are not paraded through the venue

Concessions:
Concessions are available at the majority of all SMC Athletics home events. Every effort will be made to inform the public of the status of concessions prior to opening of doors at all events.  

First Aid:
Please notify any SMC Athletics Event staff member if medical attention is needed.

Lost and Found:
Contact any Game Day Event Staff member for help with lost items at any athletics venue. Lost and found will be located in the ticket office during game day hours at each event. 

Merchandise:
Merchandise will be available at the majority of SMC Athletics home events. Every effort will be made to inform the public of the status of merchandise sales prior to opening of doors at all events.

Parking Non-men's basketball athletic events:
Parking for all SMC Athletic events is subject to availability and is impacted by other events on campus. Parking at SMC for athletic events is subject to standard campus parking rules, regulations and fees.

  • Parking Paystations are located in the Filippi Lot Extension,  Soda Center Lot and Recreation Center lot. Parking restrictions will be enforced Monday - Sunday, 24 hours a day.  Vehicles parked without a permit and/or in the incorrect lot will be subject to citation and towing. Vehicles illegally parked in reserved spots will be towed at the expense of the owner.  

  • Visitors to SMC may park in one of 3 daily paid parking locations (Fillipi Lot Extension, Recreation Center Lot located behind the Recreation Center, or the Soda Center Lot.

How to buy a Visitor Parking Pass:

  • Daily parking passes are available in the Filippi Lot Extension, Soda Center lot and the Recreation Center Lot. The fee is $1  per hour, with a 50 cent  minimum and a $5  maximum. These machines accept credit/debit cards only - - NO CASH.

Parking Men's Basketball:
Parking for all Men's Basketball games is subject to availability and is impacted by other events on campus. Parking for men's basketball games is $20 per car. Season parking passes are available to season ticket holders and must be purchased separately. Day of game parking is available and is payable, cash only, beginning 2 hours prior to tip off as you enter campus. Parking location on game days is dependent on availability. Patrons will be directed to appropriate lots upon arrival and payment of parking fees.

Accessible Parking:
Limited accessible parking can be accessed in the Soda Center lot, the St. Joseph lot and the Brothers Lot and is available on a first come-first serve basis.  Lots open 90 minutes prior to game time. A valid Handicapped placard must be visible in order to park in these lots/spaces.
 
Restrooms: Restrooms are located within each SMC Athletic Facility.

  • Brother Ronald Gallagher Stadium (Baseball)

    • Restrooms are located on the main concourse on the first base side.

  • University Credit Union Pavilion

    • Restrooms are located in the lobby of University Credit Union Pavilion.

    • ADA accessible restrooms are located in the lobby of University Credit Union Pavilion

  • Saint Mary's Stadium

    • Restrooms are located near the entry gate
