The regular season came to a close on Saturday night for Saint Mary's men's basketball, but Logan Johnson is just getting warmed up. The fifth year guard for the Gaels ended his final regular season in a Gaels uniform with an outstanding individual performance, leading him to take home Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year.
Johnson continued his heater as the regular season ended on Saturday in Spokane. For the final two games of the year, Johnson scored 29 and 27 points (56 for the week, 28 ppg) on 70.4% shooting and 5-6 from beyond the arc. Over the last six games of the regular season, Johnson is averaging 25.2 points per game with at least 27 points scored in five of those six games. He also added 10 assists, eight rebounds, three steals, and a block this week.
This is the second win of the award for Johnson, who picked it up two weeks ago with a similar-type performance where he scored 64 total points across two games. The uptick in production leads Johnson to finish the regular season as the team's leading scorer, beating out Aidan Mahaney by just two total points for that honor.
