
Saint Mary's Announces 2000 Football Schedule

Moraga, CA - Athletic Director Rick Mazzuto announced the completion of the 2000 football schedule, featuring an 11-game slate - including six home appearances and five road games.
The Gaels will open the season with a pair of home games against Northern California-rival Sacramento State on September 2 and Western Washington on September 9. After traveling to Humboldt State on September 16, the Gaels will host Central Washington on September 23. On September 30 and October 7, Saint Mary's will face a pair of California rivals on the road in UC Davis and Cal Poly, respectively.
Menlo College will return to Saint Mary's Stadium for the first time since 1991 on October 14 before the team makes its longest two road trips of the season. On October 21, Saint Mary's will make its first-ever trip to Colgate (Hamilton, NY), followed by a road game at Southern Utah on October 28. The "Galloping Gaels" will close out the season at home against Towson on November 4 and Drake on November 11.
In all, the Gaels will face six Division I-AA teams, four Division II teams (Western Washington, Central Washington, UC Davis, Humboldt State) and one Division III team (Menlo College).
