Moraga, CA (Feb. 1) -- Saint Mary's College Athletic Director Rick Mazzuto announced that head football coach Mike Rasmussen has been relieved of his duties, effective immediately. As the College begins its search for a new head coach, the assistant coaches will work closely with the Athletic Director and Associate Athletic Director to perform the daily operations of the program.
Rasmussen compiled a 54-46-1 record in 10 years as head coach. After 11 consecutive winning seasons from 1986-1996, the program has compiled an 8-23 mark over the last three years.
Before becoming the 15th coach in school history, Rasmussen was the team's offensive coordinator during the 1988-89 seasons.
