
Women's Basketball Blasts Gonzaga 63-50

Jermisha Dosty (Fair Oaks, CA) posted her tenth double-double of the season to pace the Saint Mary's women's basketball team (17-5, 6-3 WCC) to a 63-50 victory over Gonzaga (5-17, 0-9 WCC). Jermisha tallied 15 points and 14 rebounds to lead all scorers on the night.
Saint Mary's jumper out to a 10-1 lead at the 16:13 mark and never looked back. The Gaels held the Zags to just 19.4 percent shooting from the floor in the first half. The Bulldogs played hard, forcing seven turnovers from the Gaels, but couldn't muster any offense. Jerrmisha Dosty racked up 11 points and nine rebounds in the first half, while Gonzaga's Jessica Malone had seven points and five boards in the half. Saint Mary's had a 33-21 lead heading into the locker rooms at halftime.
The Gaels came out on fire in the second half, building up to a 20 point lead (48-28) with 11:56 remaining in the game. Saint Mary's began subbing with roughly eight minutes left to play, and the Gaels cruised to the 63-50 victory.
Jerkisha Dosty (Fair Oaks, CA) finished with 12 points and five rebounds, while freshman Corrie Mizusawa (Lafayette, CA) had eight points, five boards, and three assists on the night.
For Gonzaga, Malone finished with 15 points and 14 boards, while Bernice Stime had 12 points and six rebounds on the night.
The Gaels return to action on Saturday, February 10, when they host Portland. Tip-off is set for 7:35 PM in McKeon Pavilion.
