Men's Tennis Falls to Loyola Marymount 7-0

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team (8-14) was defeated by Loyola Marymount University 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.

Saint Mary's was victorious in only one match, that coming in the number-one doubles as Arturo Planell and Frank Schmitt defeated Tigran Martrosyan and Leo Graeubig 8-6. The Lions would go one to win the two remaining doubles matches 8-1 and 8-3.

In singles actions, LMU swept the Gaels winning all seven matches. Five of the six match ups were decided in straight sets, with the match between Schmitt and Jaakko Asuja, at number-three, going to a three set tie break. Asuja defeated Schmitt 7-5, 4-6, 10-4.

Saint Mary's will play its final regular season match against Sacramento State on Saturday, April 13 at the Korth Tennis Complex. First serve is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
