New Endowed Scholarship to Support Women's Basketball

Saint Mary's College Athletics is pleased to announce the establishment of a new endowed scholarship for Women's Basketball. The award, created by a gift from Garth and Claudia Flint will be named in honor of Saint Mary's alum and former women's basketball player Mollie Flint-Rosing, who played for the Gaels from 1995-99.
The Mollie Flint-Rosing Endowed Women's Basketball Scholarship Fund will be used to provide scholarship support to a member of the women's intercollegiate basketball team. The Mollie Flint-Rosing Scholarship is a permanently endowed fund.
"We are grateful to Saint Mary's for providing Mollie the opportunity to excel both academically and as a member of the women's basketball team," said Mr. Flint. "Saint Mary's adherence to the LaSallian principals have influenced Mollie and continue to be evident in her life today".
It has become increasingly popular for Saint Mary's families to establish endowments to recognize and honor former athletes, family members and friends, while providing consistent scholarship support to current athletes. Of the 34 athletic endowments, 28 are named after former coaches, athletes and friends of the College. A minimum investment is required to create an endowment at Saint Mary's College.
Saint Mary's College student-athletes have been excelling in the classroom and competitively for more than 100 years. The College's rich athletic tradition can be traced back to the turn of the 20th century when the Saint Mary's baseball program was one of the best in the country. The total athletic endowment at Saint Mary's College is $5.5 million. A percentage of the endowment growth is given away each year in the form of scholarships.
