Men's Tennis Bounces Back With Close Win Over LMU

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team concluded their three matches in three days stretch on Monday afternoon by beating Loyola Marymount 4-3 at the Korth Tennis Complex. With the win the Gaels finish the three-day stretch with a 2-1 record.

The Gaels were coming off a tough 4-3 loss to San Francisco on Sunday, but the fought hard on Monday to come away with the impressive victory. With the win the Gaels improve to 7-8 on the year.

In singles action the Gaels won four out of the six matches to earn the victory. Martin Marechal and Julien Tizot won in straight sets at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots and Achim Christner and Yury Platonov each won in three sets.

In doubles action the team of Yury Platonov and Achim Christner won 8-3.

Saint Mary's will try and conclude its match against San Francisco on Tuesday, April 11 weather permitting at San Francisco.
