Moraga, CA - The 2007-08 season marks the 100th year of men's basketball at Saint Mary's College. To recognize the 100 years of basketball, Saint Mary's will release the top-25 players of the last century. Saint Mary's counted down players 25 through 17 on the nine days counting down to the opening game of the year and are announcing the top 16 players, one at a time, at each home game through out the year.

When Odell scored 40 points against the Waves, it was the best single game scoring performance in school history, and still ranks tied for second all-time. In his first season, Odell scored 438 points in 26 games to average 16.8 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. He shot 56.3 percent from the floor and 81.0 percent from the free throw line. As a senior, Odell averaged 15.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while helping the Gaels post a 17-9 record and post a second place finish in the West Coast Athletic Conference with a 10-4 mark. The Gaels posted a 33-19 record for a .634 winning percentage in Odell's two season's with the program.
An outstanding free throw shooter, Odell made 345 of 424 attempts from the foul line to shoot 81.4 percent from the line for his career. His 345 made free throws ranks fourth all-time, while his 424 attempts from the charity stripe are the sixth most at SMC. Additionally, his career 81.4 free throw percentage ranks seventh. When he finished his career in 1957, Odell ranked first in all three free throw categories.
Players 16-through-1 are being released at each home game throughout the season, with No. 9 being announced at halftime of SMC's second game of the Shamrock Office Solutions Classic on December 28. The best player in the history of the program will be named at the Gaels' final home game of the season on February 25 when SMC hosts San Diego at 7 p.m.
