Moraga, CA - Saint Mary's men's tennis (10-3) has remained consistent throughout the season, posting their sixth consecutive win in a victory over Sacramento State, 4-3. Although the Gaels dropped the doubles point, the team came back to record four singles wins, at the No. 1, 3, 4, and 5 positions.
Achim Christner topped his opponent with ease, defeating Ronan Colon 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 4 position, while Andrea Zannoni also posted a two set victory, taking down the Hornets' Holden Ching, 6-0, 6-4. Senior Joel Kusnierz battled in a tough match against Kiryl Harbatsiuk of Sacramento State, edging the Hornet 7-5, 6-3. Rounding out the singles wins was Marek Dvorak, posting a 6-4, 6-1 victory at the No. 3 position.
Saint Mary's only win in doubles play was recorded by Marek Dvorak and Achim Christner, defeating Artur Klimenka and Sven-David Rueff, 8-5.
The Gaels return to action on Monday, March 10 when they face Penn at 3:00 PM at the Korth Tennis Complex.
