At Saint Mary's: Redshirted senior season due to injury after breakout junior campaign that saw him place 15th at the WCC Championships...made huge breakthroughs on the track during the spring...looks to lead a young Gael squad and lay the foundation for a new tradition of winning.
2011 (Redshirt senior): Returned from injury to finish Hornet Jamboree (4 mi) in 21:25 and be sixth man for the Gaels...took sixth man at Stanford Invitational in 27:26...ran a strong WCC Championship race placing 53rd overall and fifth for Saint Mary's in 27:49.
2010 (Senior): Redshirt season
2009 (Junior): Top runner in the four mile race at the Hornet Jamboree with a time of 20:44...finished 17th overall in the Aztec Invitational (8K) with a then personal best time of 26:50...won the 8K at the Doc Adams Open, setting a new personal best with a time of 25:13...led the Gaels at the WCC Championships (8K), finishing 15th overall in 25:47 to earn WCC Honorable Mention honors...finished first for the Gaels at the NCAA West Regionals (10K) with a time of 33:24.
2008 (Sophomore): Finished in the top five for the Gaels in all six races...No. 1 runner for SMC at the Stanford Invitational in 27:30...ran a personal best at the Sundodger Invitational with a time of 26:14...ran in the WCC Championships for the second straight year, finishing with a time of 28:24...competed in the NCAA West Regionals (10K) finishing in 33:06, good for fourth all-time for SMC.
2007 (Freshman): Finished in the top three for the Gaels in every race during an impressive freshman campaign...recorded a person best for 8K at the Bronco Invitational with a 26:46 finish...debuted at the WCC Championships at Crystal Springs with a finishing time of 27:10, helping the men to a sixth place finish in the conference.
High School: Joins Saint Mary's from Everett Alvarez High School in Salinas, CA...earned eight varsity letters in track & field and cross country...named most valuable player in cross country twice and most valuable player in track & field three times...captain of cross country for two years and track & field for three years.
Personal: Born Mark Eric Blucher Jr....majoring in Kinesiology with a focus on Sports Management.
