MORAGA, Calif. – Incoming Saint Mary's cross country and track freshman Abby Bolt has been named a top-10 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) student-athlete, it was announced by the Reno Gazette-Journal.
This past year Bolt made significant strides in cross country where she set a personal best and placed sixth individually at the Nevada large school state championships.
The fastest girl in school history, Bolt is a four-time recipient of the National Charity League mother-daughter community service award. According to the NIAA, she helped to organize a dress drive for Aly's Prom Closet. She also volunteers for the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.
This week the Gaels head to the UCI Steve Scott Invitational, while some of the team will head to the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford. These are the final races before the West Coast Invitational on May 9th in San Francisco.
