MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's cross country and track programs have added assistant coach Brett Zorich, it was announced by head coach Marty Kinsey.
"I am pleased to announce yet another excellent addition to the Gaels Cross Country and Track program," said Kinsey. "Brett brings with her a wealth of experience in the middle distance world of running. Her knowledge will enhance our coaching staff's ability to recruit and develop student-athletes all while working within the mission of the college."
Zorich is a major pick up for the Gaels as she spent last year as the head women's coach for Monte Vista High school where she led four athletes to the CIF state meet and two women to top ten finishes. Those high school athletes recorded PR's of 4:48/10:29 in the 1600/3200 and the other notched a 2:09 800m PR on the season.
Prior to being the head coach at Monte Vista she was a volunteer-assistant at UC Davis. She also spent a year with associate head coach Tom Kloos, running for the BATC. As a student-athlete, Brett was a 2nd team All-American for UNLV in the 800m in 2012. She recorded a best time of 2:04 in the event that qualified her for the B standard in our Olympic Trials. She also has a 400m pr of 53.5 and has earned three Mountain West championship titles in the 4x400m and was runner up in the indoor DMR and outdoor 400m.
