
LAX | Gaels Fall on the Road in Season Opener

LOS ANGELES — In the season's opener, the Saint Mary's lacrosse team (0-1, 0-1 MPSF) dropped a 20-2 conference decision to nationally ranked No. 4 USC (1-0, 1-0 MPSF).
Jocelyn Lubert opened the scoring for the Gaels as the junior scored on a free position shot. First year player Jillian Dunlap recorded her first career goal as a Gael at the 2:57 mark in the second half.
Senior Sydney Pinello started in goal for the Gaels, and totaled two saves before being relieved by first year keeper Cassidy Hoffman.
SMC totaled seven shots in the match to go along with 13 ground-balls.
The Gaels will head back to the field to take on Stanford in Moraga, Calif. The match versus the Cardinal will begin at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21.
