MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's women's lacrosse player Jocelyn Lubert was named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 20-26 after leading the Gaels with a seven goal performance in the 16-11 win at Butler.
The win marks the first win since April 2014 when Saint Mary's defeated Kennesaw State, 22-12.
The junior attacker continued her recent hot streak for SMC, scoring a game-high seven goals against the Bulldogs. Lubert notched five alone in the second half which tied the total goals scored by Butler in the half.
Lubert now has a team-high 13 goals through the first four games of the season. Before recording her impressive seven goal performance, the 5-7 junior scored a hat-trick in the match at Robert Morris University.
In total, Lubert has 12 of her 13 scores all in the last three games. She also has two assists and a team-high 15 points.
Saint Mary's will have the week off before heading back to the east coast for three matches in a short four day span.
The Gaels will face off at Central Connecticut State on Friday, March 10 at 1 p.m. SMC will then compete against Manhattan College (March 12) and conclude the road swing at Wagner College on Monday, March 13 at 12 p.m.
