SUNNYVALE, Calif. – The Gaels competed at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday morning and had a number of strong runs that propelled the men's team to 13th-place and the women's team to 16th.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saint Mary's men's team worked hard Saturday morning to secure 13th-place out of 20 teams. Nolan Dozier continued to lead the Gaels in the Bronco Invitational: the junior placed 11th out of 176 runners with a time of 24:11.30. Junior
Moses Bojorquez also had an impressive day as he finished in 30th-place with a time of 24:26.30.
The Saint Mary's women's team competed tough on Saturday as well and placed 16th out of 24 teams. Abby Bolt had the strongest finish for the Gaels as she posted a time of 21:27.20 in a field of 209 runners and
Kaela Dishion was close behind with a time of 21:47.50.
QUOTABLE
"I'm really impressed with Nolan and Moses today," said head coach Marty Kinsey. "Both of them had really strong performances that rank well in all-time Saint Mary's performances. I think they are proving to themselves that they can run with the best in any meet. We also had four freshman on the men's side run in the 25-minute range which is really promising for our future. The women's race was overall solid, but everyone in the race could do better. Overall, it was a solid day."
UP NEXT
The Gaels are readying themselves for the conference championship next as they travel to Utah ahead of the West Coast Conference Championships on Saturday, October 27th.
