SB | Garnett Hires Stephanie Ceo as Assistant Coach

Gaels' head coach has added another coach to her staff this offseason with the hiring of Stephanie Ceo.

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's softball coach Sonja Garnett has announced the hire of Stephanie Ceo as her new assistant coach for the upcoming season. Ceo will join Emily Montanez as the second assistant hired this offseason.

"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Ceo to our staff," stated Garnett. "She brings great experience and knowledge of the game and will be responsible for our defense among other things."

Ceo, who has coached Sacramento youth teams in recent years, comes to the Gaels' staff after an illustrious career at Texas. The Meadow Vista, Calif. native started all four years as a Longhorn, mostly at the keystone position, and helped her team reach the College World Series three times.

Ceo batted over .300 three times as a Longhorn including a season-high .362 as a sophomore. In her junior campaign, she crushed five home runs and was an impressive 9-for-10 on the basepaths. Equally as talented in the classroom, Ceo was a regular on the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll and was named to the All-Big 12 Academic Team twice during her career.
