MORAGA, Calif. - Saint Mary's men tennis (3-10, 0-1 WCC) faced a tough test versus San Francisco (5-10, 2-0 WCC) and eventually dropped a tight, 4-1 decision on the road, Saturday afternoon at the Cal Club.
Down a match in doubles, Saint Mary's top duo Damon Kesaris and Nash Vollenweider tied the doubles portion with a convincing 6-2 win on court 1. The Dons clinched the doubles point with a tiebreaker, 7-6 win on court 2.
Kesaris notched the Gaels' lone win of the singles competition with the straight-set, 6-0, 6-2 victory.
First year player Chambers Easterling slid to the number three spot and went unfinished in a strong showing on court 3. Senior Jacob Lagman also went unfinished after tying the match at one-set apiece.
The Gaels will travel south to Santa Clara for their second conference match of the season. First serve versus the Broncos is set for 2 p.m. PDT.
