STANFORD, Calif. — Saint Mary's faced steep competition Saturday as they traveled across the bay to play No. 10 Stanford and were shutout by a 7-0 final score.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gaels nearly earned a win on the top doubles court as
Matis Bot and
Damon Kesaris paired up against the Cardinal's top duo of Kumar/Sah but fell, 7-5.
In singles' action, Saint Mary's faced off against three ranked players but were overcome in all three matches. On Court 4, freshman David Abfalter kept a close first set against Michael Genender but would eventually drop the match, 7-5, 6-1. Newcomer James Watt also got his first taste of collegiate tennis on Court 6.
