

XC | Women's Team Breaks Program Record at NCAA West Regionals

MORAGA, Calif. – The Gaels competed at the NCAA West Regionals on Friday with the women's team breaking a number of program records during the meet.
The women's team placed 22nd during the competition which was their highest finish ever in program history at the regional meet. Sophomore Kaela Dishion posted yet another stellar finish and was the top-finisher for the Gaels as she earned 41st place with a race time of 20:54.7. Dishion's finish was the second best in school history at the West Regionals and she was the sixth place finisher among conference runners. Freshman Rayna Stanziano also continued her strong inaugural season with SMC as she placed 85th (21:26.4). Her finish was the best from a freshman in program history and it was the first time Saint Mary's had two runners finish in the top-85.

The men's team placed 28th at the West Regionals and freshman Lucas Chung was the first place finisher for Saint Mary's with a time of 32:25.3. Junior Sebastian Andersson came in shortly after Chung with a 32:39.0 race time followed by freshman Xavier Gonzales (33:09.3).

As team competition has finished, the Gaels await news regarding the NCAA Championships to take place on November 23 in Terra Haute, Indiana.
