SAN JOSE, Calif. – The Gaels competed well on Saturday at the West Coast Invitational and placed within the top-10 of every race they competed in.

For the women, Abby Bolt was able to nab the top-spot in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:07.51 followed closely by Ellen Burbank in second place (10:19.26) who ran a new lifetime best, beating out her previous time of 10:38. Neylene Leon secured third place for the Gaels in the 1500 meter with a time of 4:51.21 and was the only Gael to race in that heat. Emma McCarthy blazed a trail in the 800 meter run and landed third place (2:25.58), while Allie Timbrell (7th), Alize Hartke (8th), and Amrita Vepa (10th) all placed as well.

For the men's team, Nolan Dozier raced the fastest time for the Gaels (8:34.76) in the 3000 meter run and landed third place, while Moses Bojorquez came in ninth (8:50.13). Four Gaels placed in the top-15 for the 1500 meter with Tommy Bell (8th), Alex Riggsby (11th), Mason labadie (12th), and Stuart Kendall (15th) all securing strong finishes. Michael Lopez showed off his speed in the 800 meter and placed third with a time of 2:11.73.

"Abby is very tough as is and this race helped her lead from the front and push her body. She was able to run her goal-time per lap," said head coach Marty Kinsey. "Ellen she did good job of positioning and drafting for the last 120 meters for her lifetime best."
