ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO
After dropping back-to-back games to Saint Mary's and Portland to open WCC play, San Francisco has won three straight to tie for second in the conference standings and bring their overall record to 14-6. After playing the Gaels on Thursday, USF will welcome BYU to the Hilltop in their toughest week of the season.

Charles Mineland leads his team with 15.4 points per game and 4.2 rebounds. Jamaree Bouyea is another important cog in the Dons' offense at 13.2 ppg and a team-high 3.9 assists per contest. The duo combined for 28 points on 10-of-25 shooting in the teams' previous meeting this season although they shot just 1-for-8 beyond the arc.

In their last matchup, the Gaels' defense held USF to just 33 percent shooting and 6-of-25 from three-point land. Malik Fitts had a double-double for SMC with 21 points and 13 boards while Jordan Ford (16) and Tommy Kuhse (15) also led the team in scoring.

Saint Mary's has won 26 of the last 29 games against San Francisco and are 30-7 in head coach Randy Bennett's tenure. SMC has not lost to USF at home since 2003, a stretch of 16 consecutive home wins.

ABOUT LOYOLA MARYMOUNT
The Lions began conference play on the right foot with win over San Diego but have since dropped all four WCC games since including 20-plus point losses to BYU and Gonzaga. Prior to hosting the Gaels, LMU will take on Portland inside Gersten Pavilion on Thursday.

Junior Eli Scott leads the Lions in multiple offensive category with team-highs in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and field goal percentage. The 6-6 guard is averaging 16 points per game while shooting an efficient 54 percent from the field. Sophomore forward Ivan Alipiev is the only other Lion averaging over 10 points a game this season at 10.5.

Saint Mary's has won 25 of the last 26 games against Loyola Marymount and currently own a 14-game winning streak versus LMU. Last year, the Gaels beat the Lions on the road by 11 in their only matchup of the season.
