Fotu Selected as Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. — Dan Fotu has been named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week for helping Saint Mary's go 2-0 last week against UTEP and San Jose State.

Fotu began the week by scoring nine points against the Miners on 4-of-7 shooting in 17 minutes of play. The junior also had two blocks and four rebounds on the defensive end to help SMC win 73-61.

On Friday night versus San Jose State, Fotu completed his first career double-double with 15 points and 10 boards. His rebound total matched a career-high while he came just one point short of tying his personal-best in scoring.

All told, the forward scored 24 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and was 10-of-16 from the floor (63 percent) in 37 minutes of play. Fotu now averages 8.4 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest.

Saint Mary's takes the court again tomorrow night against the Eagles of Eastern Washington. Game time is 7 p.m. and fans can watch live on the WCC Network.
