The Lions are 9-17 this season and sit in eighth place in the West Coast Conference with a 3-9 conference record. LMU is coming off a split week as they fell to BYU on Thursday but made a strong comeback with a 65-59 victory over Santa Clara on Saturday.

Junior guard Eli Scott leads the Lions at 15.9 points per game while averaging a .546 field goal percentage which is good for second in the conference. Scott continues to lead LMU's efforts as he has racked up 118 assists and 29 steals while averaging 34.5 minutes per contest. As a team, Loyola Marymount ranks fourth in the WCC for team field goal percentage with .469 compared to their opponents with .445.

Thursday's contest will be the 95th meeting between the two schools while Saint Mary's has won the last 15 matchups against the Lions dating back to 2012.

ABOUT SAN DIEGO
The Toreros currently sit in ninth place in the WCC standings at 2-11 and hold a 9-19 overall record. In their last two matchups, USD lost in both contests as they fell 72-69 to Pepperdine and dropped a close 72-71 loss to BYU.

Redshirt junior guard Braun Hartfield is at the forefront of the Toreros' efforts as he averages 14.6 points per game while posting 61 assists and averaging 34.4 minutes per contest. Guard Joey Calcaterra is the other lone Torero to average in double digits in points per game with 11.2 and he also leads the team in free-throw percentage with 81% (61-for-75).

Saint Mary's has dominated the Gaels-Toreros rivalry in recent years as they have won the last 17 of 18 matchups.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels came out of the gate swinging on Saturday as they snapped Pacific's five game win-streak with a 71-63 victory over the Tigers for their eighth conference win of the season. During the contest, Saint Mary's recognized the 10-year anniversary of their 2009-10 Sweet 16 Team where 12 of the members were in attendance for the halftime ceremony.

Sophomore Dan Fotu led the team in not one, but three categories on the night as well as picked up the first double-double of his career. Fotu earned a team-high 16 points which was just one point shy of his career-high that he recorded earlier this season on December 21 against Seattle U. Fotu also nabbed a career-high 10 rebounds (7 DR, 3 OR), and recorded two assists to tie his previous season-high.

Saint Mary's ended the night shooting 55 percent and 50 percent from beyond the arc. The Gaels also outrebounded the Tigers by a margin of eight as SMC was able to grab 31 boards, their most since January 2 against San Francisco (34). SMC achieved their largest lead of the game in the second half when they went up by 17 points following a layup from Elijah Thomas with just under four minutes to go in the game.
