Live Stream | Live Stats

Baseball season returns to Moraga as the Gaels make their 2021 season opener at home against Utah Valley. Saint Mary's looks to improve upon their 2020 season that was abbreviated due to COVID-19 concerns, a year that ended with an 8-8 mark. The Gaels finished the year strong, however, winning six of their final seven games while allowing two or fewer runs in all six of those wins.

SATURDAY

Live Stream | Live Stats

Day two of the series against Utah Valley features a doubleheader, as Saint Mary's and Utah Valley get together for a pair of games beginning at 10:00 am. This will be a staple of Saturday non-conference action for the Gaels, who will be playing four-game series on the weekends out of conference, with a doubleheader set for Saturdays.

Men's Tennis at San Diego, 1:00 pm (San Diego, Calif.)

The Gaels return to the court on Saturday for their first WCC match of the season against the Toreros. SMC is 1-3 this year but recently knocked off UC Davis by a score of 5-2 for their first win of the year. Damon Kesaris, who is ranked within the top-25 in singles by the ITA, went 2-0 in solo action last week versus Cal Poly and the Aggies.

Theresa Romagnolo will look to earn her first win as head coach of the Gaels this weekend as SMC heads inland to face Pacific. Saint Mary's is 0-1-1 this year but both matches have gone into double overtime. In the team's last game, Carly Hittenmiller scored the game-tying goal in the first half by getting in the way of a San Francisco clear and redirecting the ball back into the Dons' net. Pacific is currently 0-2-1 this year.

Women's Basketball at Pepperdine, 2:00 pm (Malibu, Calif.)
Live Stream | Live Stats

The final game of the week commences for Saint Mary's, as the Gaels take on the Waves in Malibu. Saint Mary's hosted Pepperdine in January and walked away winners over Pepperdine, the only team in the WCC that has yet to win a conference game. Saint Mary's scored 79 points in their win over Pepperdine last month, their most points in a WCC game this season. This game serves as the final home game of the season for Pepperdine, who will be having their Senior Day.

Game 1 Stats | Game 2 Stats

The Gaels conclude their weekend by traveling through the Caldecott Tunnel to face off with Cal in doubleheader action. Saint Mary's played the Golden Bears at home last season and nearly knocked them off in a 5-4 loss.

The Gaels and Wolverines wrap up their four-game series on Sunday with an afternoon contest. Saint Mary's figures to have one of the deepest rotations in the WCC this season, and that will be on display by the end of Sunday, with four of their best pitchers taking the ball in the starting rotation. Dalton Ponce figures to get the ball as the Gaels starter during game four of the series, and he was great in the role last year, going 2-1 with a 2.45 ERA in four starts.
