HOW IT HAPPENED
The Gaels (12-7, 3-5 WCC) had three players reach double figure points in the contest and were led by Logan Johnson with 19. The junior was 3-of-6 from beyond the arc, had a team-best five assists, and also co-led with seven rebounds.

After a 5-0 run by the Waves, Johnson cut through the lane and scored a layup off glass to expand his team's lead back to four.
Dan Fotu was second on the team with 14 points and also had seven rebounds. Matthias Tass scored 11 and was 4-of-6 from the field before fouling out.
Saint Mary's longest run of the game came in the second half after Pepperdine took a four-point lead. Four different Gaels combined for a 10-0 series across two minutes and change to put SMC back up by six.
