SAN MATEO, Calif. — Gaels' third baseman Julia McCormack has been named the West Coast Conference Player of the Week for her performance in the team's doubleheader against California Baptist on Friday. 

In the two games versus CBU, McCormack went 4-for-6 at the plate with two hits in both contests. In the second game of the doubleheader, the third baseman smoked a home run to left field that cleared the Gaels' scoreboard and would be the deciding run in the team's 9-1 run-rule win over the Lancers. 

In total, McCormack had three RBIs, one stolen base, seven total bases, and a 1.167 slugging percentage. On defense, she did not commit an error in nine chances and turned a game-ending unassisted double play in Game 2.

The senior now leads the Gaels in RBIs (13) and home runs (2) and is batting .260 on the season. McCormack is the second Gael to earn Player of the Week this season after Hannah Chew earned the award on March 2.
