SB | Marchetti Joins Gaels as Newest Assistant Coach

MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's Softball staff is adding one coach to the mix in advance of the 2022 season, and that comes in the form of Ethan Marchetti, as announced by head coach Sonja Garnett. Marchetti will join Garnett and Emily Montanez on staff for the upcoming season and brings great experience from the Pac-12.
While getting his bachelor's degree in political science from UCLA, Marchetti was on staff with UCLA as the softball program's student manager. He helped in a variety of settings including running hitting drills, fielding drills, and video analysis. Marchetti also played a pivotal role in helping with fundraising, ID camps, and other project management.
"We are honored to have Ethan joining our staff," head coach Garnett said of Marchetti. "He has demonstrated he can contribute to a championship program, and is excited to work with our athletes. He is a great addition to our family and culture."
Marchetti is currently in the process of getting his master's in education from UCLA, in transformative coaching and leadership.
The recruiting class has been completed for Saint Mary's, and the Gaels will begin fall practice and competition later this semester in advance of the spring season. More information about the 2022 schedule will be available at a later date.
