MORAGA, Calif. - Saint Mary's Men's Tennis got in a back-and-forth affair with Sacramento State on Sunday afternoon, but the Hornets hung on to top the Gaels 4-3 at the Korth Tennis Complex.
Five of the six singles matches lasted three sets, as the Gaels cut into the deficit to make it 2-1 Hornets after
James Watt defeated Mark Keki at No. 1 by a 3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (5) score. It took a big comeback by Mate Voros to put the Hornets up, 3-1, as he came back from a 5-2 deficit in the third set against
Caelan Potts to win 4-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Saint Mary's tied things at 3-3 after
Carlos Ramos Membrives beat Ori Maior 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 and
Thibaud Maxant topped Rudolfs Aksenoks 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. It all came down toÂ
Karlo Divkovic against Jan Silva, with Sliva providing the match clinching point for the Hornets with a 6-2, 5-7, and 6-0 in the third set.

The Gaels will play on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend, going down to Stanford for a 1:00 p.m. start on Saturday and hosting Nevada at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
