XCTK | Tenth Annual Poker Tournament to be held August 20th

Moraga, Calif. – Saint Mary's College Cross Country and Track are excited to host the 10th Annual Texas Hold 'Em Tournament on August 20th, 2022. Proceeds from the tournament will directly benefit the Men's and Women's Cross Country and Track programs. Coach Marty Kinsey has been in charge of the event since its inception, and he's as anxious as ever for the tournament.

"We are excited to kick off the season with yet another successful fundraising event" said Coach Kinsey. "Over the past ten years parents, alumni, family and friends have enjoyed the fun atmosphere of this evening. If you're looking for a fun night out and looking for ways to support the Gaels, this event has it all."

Over the past 10 years, the tournament has raised over $200,000 for student-athletes on the cross country and track programs.

Tickets to compete in the event start at $100, which includes the tournament buy-in, refreshments, and food as well. If you'd rather watch the event, spectators can purchase a ticket for $50. All competitors must be 21 and over to compete in the event.

Some of the prizes this year include vacation packages to Lake Tahoe and Carmel, season tickets to Men's Basketball, wine tasting packages in Sonoma County, Saint Mary's swag packages, and much more.

Saint Mary's Cross Country/Track is coming off a fantastic 2021-22 season. Rayna Stanziano had another dominant season, finishing fourth in the Bronco Invitational with a time of 20:11.9. Stanziano also won the Pacific Invitational, helping the Gaels win the event for the first time ever. She was also named All-West Region, the second Gael in program history to earn the honor. Super senior Nolan Dozier finished off his Gaels career with a 38th-place finish at NCAA West Regionals with a time of 30:36. Although he was four seconds off of his 10k personal best, it was his best ever NCAA West Regionals finish.
