SB | Inclement Weather Wipes Out Weekend in Idaho, Utah

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's softball was scheduled for a weekend out of state, with five games in Idaho and Utah beginning on Friday. Frigid temperatures and snow in the forecast at both Idaho State and Utah State has canceled those weekend plans, with all five games no longer taking place.

The Gaels were scheduled to play a doubleheader at Idaho State on Friday, and then begin a three-game series with Utah State on Saturday afternoon in Logan, Utah. Recent storms that drenched the Bay Area have made their way out towards the Rockies, and the result is five inches of snow expected to fall across the weekend.

This is the second time in the last three weekends that the Gaels have seen games lost due to weather. The Mustang Classic in San Luis Obispo was canceled entirely from March 10-12 after a strong storm system went through California.

As it stands, the Gaels will begin a nine-game home stand on Tuesday, April 4 when they welcome in UC Davis for a midweek doubleheader, beginning at 12:00 pm. Conference play commences later that weekend against San Diego, beginning on Friday, April 7.
