IRVINE, Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Tennis wasn't able to keep the winning streak going after a 4-1 loss to UC Irvine on Wednesday.
 
The match with the Anteaters has been over a month in the making, as it was rescheduled due to rain on February 23, and had even a five-hour delay today.
 
UC Irvine took the first doubles match, but the Gaels would get wins from the combos of Diego Jarry and Caelan Potts, and from the tandem of Carlos Ramos Membrives and James Watt. Both matches were tight, with Jarry and Potts winning 7-5, and Ramos Membrives and Watt going to a 7-5 tiebreaker to get a 7-6 win.
 
Unfortunately, that doubles point would be the last win the Gaels would get on the day. The Anteaters would sweep the singles portion, though Potts was leading his match when the overall result was decided for UC Irvine.

The Gaels will remain in SoCal to resume WCC play by taking on LMU on Friday, March 31 at 12:00 p.m.
