MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Track and Field teams will split up this weekend as the teams will go to either San Francisco for the Mike Fanelli Classic or Palo Alto for the Stanford Invite.

LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels last competed at the Cardinal Classic, also hosted by Stanford. It was only the men's team in action at Stanford, as a handful of runners stepped up and dropped significant time across a plethora of events.

The Gaels had a handful of athletes compete in the field events, as Wisdom Thomas took on the long jump and Gavin Voskamp competed in the shot put and discus.

Thomas had a solid showing in the long jump, as he finished 7^th out of 15 competitors. His longest jump was 6.55m, with Stanford's Allan Hunter taking the event with a 7.36m jump.

In the shot put, Voskamp finished 14^th out of 17 throwers, hit farthest throw being 13.80m. In the discus, Voskamp again finished 14^th, with his farthest throw being 39.96m.

The track event got underway shortly after noon, with 1500m getting the action underway for the Gaels. Six Gaels on the men's side raced the discipline, as Blaine Reynolds led the way for SMC.

Reynolds continues to improve every race this season, as he snatched 5^th place out of 51 runners in a time of 3:55.04, a personal best by three seconds.

Thomas Osborne finished under the four-minute mark for the first time, finishing 13^th in a time of 3:58.45, a personal best by two seconds.

The 800m featured a host of Gaels, as seven runners from the men's side raced in the event. Jason Habash was the quickest of the bunch for SMC, finishing 7^th out of 28 runners in a time of 1:55.60.

His teammates weren't far behind, as Reinder Prince finished 9^th and Eric Martinez in 10^th. Prince's 1:56.46 was a personal best by a few hundredths, with a three second drop for Martinez who ran a 1:57.11.

The 5000m was the longest event of the day, with six Gaels running the lengthy race. Richard McLain took top honors, as he smashed his previous best by five seconds, winning the event in a time of 14:52.40.

Cayden Hein ran a solid race for the Gaels as well, claiming sixth in a time of 15:13.96. two more Gaels rounded out the top-10, with Angel Castro in 8^th in 15:32.10, and Troy Coulston in 10^th in a time of 15:34.87, a personal best by five seconds.

Aidan Donovan and Luke Bland rounded out the field for SMC, with Donovan in 13^th in a time of 15:43.90, and Bland in 14^th in a time of 15:44.38. Donovan's time was a personal best by two seconds as well.

The Gaels finished off the day with the 1600m relay, as SMC finished 9^th out of 11 teams with a time of 3:25.88.
