MORAGA Calif. – Saint Mary's Men's Tennis will host the Portland Pilots and Gonzaga Bulldogs this weekend at the Korth Tennis Courts, with WCC Tournament positioning on the line, as the Gaels are tied with both teams at 3-3 in the conference standings.

Saint Mary's Men's Tennis won 4-3 over the Pacific Tigers on Saturday, bringing them back to .500 in WCC play at 3-3. The win puts the Gaels at sixth in the conference standings, which would qualify them for the WCC Tournament April 27-29.

James Watt's 6-3, 7-6 win in the one spot over UOP's Peter Alam to tie things at 3-3. That was followed by
Mathis Moysan wrapping up a 7-6, 6-4 win for the Gaels to get the W in the dual match.]

ABOUT PORTLAND
University of Portland seniors Sema Pankin and Eleftherios Neos have been named the West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Playing their final home matches at the Louisiana Pacific Tennis Center, the tandem went out in style with wins in matches against Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine.
In Thursday's 6-1 team win against LMU, Pankin and Neos set the tone with a dominating 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles over John Bryan Otico and Austin Di Giulio. The duo then earned a hard-fought 6-4 win on Saturday against Pepperdine's No. 47-ranked tandem of Tim Zeitvogel and Daniel De Jonge.
The pair have now won six straight dual matches, are 5-0 against WCC competition and 13-6 overall this season.

ABOUT GONZAGA
The Zags are coming off a match against LMU that they won 4-1. After the Lions took the doubles point, Gonzaga bounced back in the singles competition, as they took all six of the first sets against Loyola Marymount.

In the No. 2 spot, Gonzaga tied the match when Arthus Bassetiere won by a score of 6-1, 6-3. On court four, Tom Hann picked up his second win of the weekend, defeating Otico by a score of 6-2, 6-4.

Gonzaga expanded their lead when Gomez Galvan earned a 6-4, 6-4 court four win against Di Giulio. The Bulldogs clinched the team victory when Leon Roider earned a 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 victory.
