SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - SMC will compete for the first time in the Bill Dellinger Invitational, hosted by the University of Oregon. Only the men will compete this coming Friday, as the women's team competed at the Waves Invitational last.

The Gaels placed eighth out of 16 at the USF Invitational.
Eric Martinez was the Gael to watch as he moved from 88th at the 4K mark and finished 58th with a time of 25:40.4. Right behind Martinez was
Aidan Donovan, who finished 59th, jumping 29 spots with a time of 25:45.7.

Rounding out the top-five Gael finishers were
Troy Coulston in 66th,
Luther Hart in 68th, and
Alexandro Alvarez in 69th. All five Gaels will be back on the course in Oregon, joined by teammates
Blaine Reynolds,
Cayden Hein,
Curtis Volf,
Thomas Osborne and
Luke Bland.

THE FIELD:Â
The Pine Ridge Golf Club, one of Oregon's premier golf courses, will be the hosting site for the Bill Dellinger Invitational. The 8K course features two relatively flat loops, an outer loop that is approximately 2320 meters in length, and a finishing loop that is approximately 1350 meters in length.Â

There will be a total of 15 teams at the invitational, including WCC foe Portland. Also competing will be Cal Poly, Cal St. Fullerton, Cal, Idaho, Lewis and Clark, Montana, Montana State, Oregon, Sacramento St., UC Davis, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UCLA.
